Melissa obtained her B.S. in Public Affairs from Indiana University-Bloomington, where she majored in Law and Public Policy and Gender Studies, cementing her interest in the legal field and its impact on gender issues.

Driven by her desire to make a difference, Melissa pursued her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. During her time in law school, Melissa distinguished herself as an Associate Editor for the Indiana Health Law Review. Her dedication and expertise shone through when her article, titled “The Intersectionality of Race, Gender, Poverty, and Intimate Partner Violence,” was published in Volume 17 of the prestigious journal.

Her unwavering dedication to this cause led her to pursue a career in various legal arenas.
